About the Title: In Search of Balance
The title seemed appropriate, having realized one of the ironies that I keep running into involves some form of balance – balance of life and work, balance of healthy play and obsessive play, balance of social life and solitude, … This is best realized in my alter ego, Khatharsis, who has an internal war between sanity and insanity.
Of course, “Balance” by itself seemed rather plain. So it’s a little play on Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise albums.
About the Subtitle: Walking the knife’s edge
What better way to get across the concept of balance? For this, I have to refer you to P.C. Hodgell’s Kencyrath Chronicles series, which I find to be an excellent read and you may find references to throughout my posts. The specific quote is actually something along the lines of, “That is what it means to be a Shanir, to walk the knife’s edge.” (God Stalk; I need to double check the exact quote.)
